Want to build your own studio?
'Inside Cornwall' magazine featured me as their artist for their regular 'In The Studio' slot this month (Feb '09) which is great. Having built my timber framed studio myself it is especially gratifying. The photo looks a bit odd to me though. I'm not sure whether the studio looks smaller than it really is or if I look bigger than I really am. And if I'd known the photographer, Simon Cook, was going to take it from above I might have combed my hair first!
Its a good job I have an architectural background becauseI seem to be doing quite a bit of design and build work at the moment, I love timber framed buildings; they are so quick and cheap to build and its not difficult to super-insulate them. Its much easier to create a sustainable and comfortable environment this way.
Simon Pooley:- painter and eco-warrior!!!! email me if you've always wanted to build your own studio.
Next exhibitions?......Badcocks Gallery in Newlyn at the beginning of July, but first a few pieces for the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol with the Newlyn Society of Artists.
